18 Jul Spotlight on… Stephanie Frances Bridal
In our latest article, we shine the spotlight on mother and daughter team, Stephanie and Fiona of Stephanie Frances Bridal – a new bridal shop in Southbourne.
Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Stephanie and Fiona at their gorgeous bridal shop, and learning more about this talented pair. Stephanie designs and makes her own collection of wedding dresses, which range from stunning traditional full length gowns to pretty poker dots and tea length dresses.
Stephanie studied fashion design at the Arts University at Bournemouth and after graduating six years ago, went on to take a course at the London College of Fashion in bridal wear. She now designs and creates all her dresses from a studio space within the shop, with sample dresses available to try on in sizes 10 – 22. Prices start from £600 for tea dresses and from £900 for full length dresses.

Stephanie also offers a bespoke service to customers who would like a dress to be designed especially for them. Prices for this service start from £1500.
The really great thing about Stephanie’s dresses is that every single one is made to measure, whether you’re choosing from the collection or having a bespoke design made for you, ensuring that your dream dress will fit you perfectly.
As well as offering her own dresses, Stephanie is currently expanding her collection to include dresses from two British bridal designers, Charlotte Balbier and Ivory & Co, as well as the WTOO label by American Company Watters. Dresses from each designer will be available in sizes 10 – 22 and will be available to try on from September 2017. Also available in the shop are bridesmaid dresses, award-winning Rachel Simpson shoes, Doris Design chiffon pettiskirts, Jupon underskirts, a selection of veils and Twilight Designs hair jewellery.
Stephanie Frances Bridal works on an appointment only system so you will need to book your visit in advance. This means you’ll get exclusive access to the shop and the spacious dressing area (complete with comfy sofa and refreshments for your mum/friends/bridesmaids) completely to yourselves and Stephanie and Fiona will be able to give you a truly specialised service.
Bridal wear is not the only thing that’s available at Stephanie Frances Bridal. Fiona also happens to be a qualified wedding florist and has set up ‘The Flower Room’ within the shop where you can book your wedding flowers, table arrangements and bridal bouquets. To book a consultation contact Fiona at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the shop on 01202 418445.

Stephanie’s Top Tips for finding your perfect dress!
1. Stay open minded….
It is good to have some idea of the dress style you like but seeing a dress on is completely different to seeing it in a photo. You might be surprised! Also remember just because it might not look great on the hanger, doesn’t mean it won’t look stunning on!
2. Not too many…
Don’t try on too many dresses in one day- you won’t be able to take it all in! Also, don’t take too many people with you – it can lead to too many opinions and make you more confused than when you started shopping!
3. And Finally….
Trust your Instincts, when you find THE DRESS you will know. Don’t feel pressured into it, go away and come back if you need to.
Think about… can you see yourself walking down the aisle in this dress? Is it comfortable? Can you sit down, can you dance? Can you see yourself looking back at the pictures and loving the dress all over again? Don’t settle for a dress you like, buy the one that you love!
