Richard tells us…
1. What’s your favourite wedding venue in the area?
Bryanston School in Blandford. The school only allows one or two weddings a year and it’s a spectacular venue. I photographed a wedding there for a couple who had been to school there and it was a beautiful place and a beautiful day.
2. Tell us about your favourite wedding you’ve photographed?
The ceremony was at the Guildhall in Poole and it was a really small and very intimate ceremony with only four family members. I then photographed the couple out and about on the cobbled streets around Poole Quay and outside a fish and chip shop. We then headed over to Lake Pier and the beach in Hamworthy which was perfect. The backdrop of old wooden fishing boats and the views across the water were beautiful and the day was just completely different to any other wedding day I’ve photographed.
3. What’s your ‘top tip’ for a couple planning their wedding?
Plan it around you. Find a photographer you both love, as a person, for their work and their art. Don’t worry about how much others spent on their days. Don’t compare your day to a friend’s wedding or worry about what they may ‘expect’ from your day. As long as the both of you are happy with all of your wedding day elements, that’s all that matters. People are there to celebrate your marriage, not the evening fireworks.
